Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP)

Canada has emerged as one of the most attractive destinations for international students seeking high-quality education and promising career opportunities. In addition to its esteemed academic institutions and diverse culture, Canada offers a pathway for international students to gain valuable work experience through the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) program.
What is the PGWP?
The requirements for Post-Graduation Work Permits (PGWP) are changing as international students soon to be unable to get the coveted open work permit but others being able to enjoy longer periods of time to work in Canada.
As per the recent announcement of caps on the international students, there are significant changes to the eligibility requirements of the PGWP. “From September 1, 2024, international students who begin a study program that is part of a curriculum licensing arrangement will no longer be eligible for a post¬graduation work permit upon graduation,” notes Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
But graduates of master’s and other short graduate-level programs are getting a break under the new criteria. They will soon be eligible to apply for a three-year work permit
